LEE, Franklin, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November of 1786 in Harrison Township, Gloucester County, NJ; tax collector, Northern Liberties (now Philadelphia); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1839; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1840, 1842) unsuccessful campaign, mayor, Northern Liberties (1845); manager, American Baptist Publication Society (1849); died, December 13, 1861 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
