LAW, Edward Ellenborough, a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, March 11, 1801 in Norwich, New London County, Ct.; graduated. Harvard College, 1819; lawyer; elected, director of public schools, Philadelphia (1834-1835); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1840 and 1841 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1842 term; died, January 1, 1889 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
