GOSSLER, Jacob L., a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, 1825 in Columbia, Lancaster County, Pa.; lawyer; railroad freight agent, Pennsylvania Railroad, Philadelphia; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1851 and 1852 terms; New York Superintendent, Pennsylvania Railroad, Brooklyn, NY (1869-1878); assistant general freight agent for New York and New England, Pennsylvania Railroad (1879-1881); director, Wallabout Bank (1888-1893); died, March 22, 1893 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York; interred, Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.
