LATHROP, Charles J., a Representative from Sullivan, Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties; born, June 25, 1815; lath maker; fruit farmer; member, Susquehanna County Democratic Committee; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Elk Lake (1842-1850); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1855 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1856 term; land agent; died, May 4, 1899 in Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Brooklyn Universalist Cemetery, Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
