CHASE, Ezra B., a Representative from Sullivan, Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties; born, December 25, 1827 in West Windsor, Broome County, NY; attended, Harford Academy; lawyer (1850-1864); owner, Montrose Democrat (1851-1856); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1853 and 1854 terms; elected, Speaker (1854); owner and editor, Herald of the Union (1856-1859); elected, District Attorney, Luzerne County (1861-1864); died, February 15, 1864 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
