VLIET, James, a Representative from Monroe and Northampton Counties; born, April 2, 1801 in New Jersey; land surveyor; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1845 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1846 term; reelected to the House for the 1847 term; elected, justice of the peace, Bath (1851-1874); elected, burgess, Bath (1856); died, June 2, 1881 in Bath, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Green Mount Cemetery, Bath, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
