COURTNEY, David M., a Representative from Mercer County; born, October 20, 1809 in Wolf Creek, Mercer County, Pa.; engaged, iron business; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1848); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1849); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1852); elected, commissioner, Lawrence County (1871); died, April 17, 1877 in Shenango Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
