BANKS, James, a Representative from Mercer County; born, June 7, 1791 in Juniata County, Pa.; farmer; elected, overseer, Neshannock Township, Mercer County (now Lawrence County) (1820); elected, auditor, Neshannock Township (1824, 1827, 1828, 1831); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1841 and 1842 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1843 term; died, April 17, 1881 in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania; interred, Rich Hill United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Volant, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
