Biography

HERR, Daniel, a Representative from Lancaster County; captain, Lafayette Riflemen, 4th Division, Pennsylvania Militia; proprietor, Washington House, hotel and restaurant, Columbia, Pa.; engaged, Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad Company; director, Columbia Bank and Bridge Company; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1852 and 1853; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House as a Democrat (1865).
