BALDWIN, Robert Alonzo, Sr., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, July 12, 1805 in West Bradford Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; proprietor, dry goods and grocery store (1830-1882); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1850 and 1851 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1852 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1858-1860); director, Parkesburg National Bank (1871-1888); died, January 30, 1888 in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Compass, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
