DICKINSON, Joseph C., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, March 12, 1817 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; farmer (1837-1847); merchant (1848-1857); proprietor, hotel, Christiana, Pa.; builder; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1846 and 1847; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1848); prospector, Missouri; engaged in real estate; died, June 21, 1891 in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
