PATTERSON, David Watson, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, August 30, 1815 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended, Moscow Academy, Chester County; attended, Milton Academy, Northumberland County; gradated, Washington College (now Washington and Jefferson College), 1839; studied law under John R. Montgomery; colonel, 89th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia; captain, Company E, 10th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861, Civil War); attorney (1842-1874); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1846; elected, District Attorney, Lancaster County (1854-1856); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1872-1873); elected, associate judge, Lancaster County (1874-1892); died, February 21, 1892 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
