SHUMAN, Jacob Good, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, July 27, 1811 in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; cooper; teacher; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1844 and 1845; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1846); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1855-1857); died, August 14, 1858 in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Henry Hostetter Farm Cemetery, Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
