PAXSON, Joseph, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 15, 1779 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; lawyer; secretary, Anti-Mason County Convention (1831); elected, commissioner, Lancaster County (1839-1840, 1841-1844); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1840, 1846); member, board of revision, Lancaster County (1843); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1845 term; died, June 20, 1867 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Eastland Friends Burial Ground, Little Britain, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
