KAUFFMAN, Abraham, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, March 30, 1799 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; farmer; elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1835-1836, 1836-1837 and 1837-1838 terms; reelected to the House as a Whig for the 1844 term; elected, director of the poor, Lancaster County (1850-1856); president, Manheim National Bank; died, December 17, 1886 in Penn Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Kauffman’s Mennonite Church Cemetery, Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
