ANDREWS, Hugh, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, November 14, 1794 in Lancaster County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1840 and 1841; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1842); elected, delegate, Whig County Convention (1848); unsuccessful campaign, clerk of the Orphans’ Court, Lancaster County (1854); died, October 19, 1855 near Mount Union, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, Kirkwood, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
