KONIGMACHER, Joseph, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 12, 1805 in Pennsylvania; tanner; elected, delegate, Democrat Anti-Mason County Convention (1838); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1838-1839 and 1840 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1841 term; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Canal Commissioner (1847); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1849-1851); proprietor, Ephrata Mountain Springs Hotel; trustee, Franklin and Marshall College; president, Reading and Columbia Railroad; died, April 4, 1861 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ephrata Cloister Cemetery, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
