GEHLEY (GEHLY), Daniel L., a Representative from York County; born, October 15, 1807 in Warwick Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; lieutenant colonel, 64th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1835); wool manufacturer (1825-1876); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1846; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House as an Independent candidate (1847); vice president, Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of York County (1853-1890); farmer; died, April 3, 1890 in Windsor Township, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Gehly Burial Ground, Windsor, York County, Pennsylvania.
