(1839-1845); elected as an American party candidate to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1854; reelected to the House as a Republican (1855); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1860, 1868); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1865-1867); manager, Novelty Iron Works, agricultural implement manufacturer; died, September 10, 1878 in Millerstown, Perry County, Pennsylvania; interred, Millerstown Memorial Cemetery, Millerstown, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
