STRUTHERS, John Strickland, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, 1826 in Pennsylvania; captain, Company C, 108th Regiment, Eleventh Pennsylvania Volunteer Calvary (1861-1862, Civil War); captain, Company K, 117th Regiment, Thirteenth Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1862-1864, Civil War); railroad agent and conductor; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1851 term, not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1852 term; marble dresser; bank clerk; died, October of 1901 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Ivy Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
