GOFF, James W., a Representative from Luzerne County; born, 1802 in New York; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Carbondale; engaged, lumber business; elected, sheriff, Luzerne County (1844-1847); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1848 term, unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1849 term; died, November 12, 1875 in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
