OVERFIELD, Moses, a Representative from Luzerne and Wyoming Counties; born, April 13, 1793 in Northampton County, Pa.; served, United States Army (1847, Mexican American War); farmer; member, Luzerne County Democratic Convention (1838); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1842); elected, Pennsylvania Canal Commissioner (1843); died, September 30, 1860 in Meshoppen, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
