CORTRIGHT, Andrew, a Representative from Luzerne and Wyoming Counties; born, December 16, 1786 in Luzerne County, Pa.; farmer; elected, commissioner, Luzerne County (1830); vice president, Luzerne County Democratic Committee (1838); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1841 and 1842 terms; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Beach Grove (1847); died, October 27, 1863 in Salem, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Beach Grove Cemetery, Beach Haven, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
