MELOY, John, a Representative from Washington County; born, June 18, 1804 in Lancaster County, Pa.; school teacher; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1844 and 1851; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1845, 1852); elected, register of deeds, Washington County (1854-1857); died, May 15, 1898 in Independence Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
