MARTIN, Jesse, a Representative from Washington County; born, 1788; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Parkinson’s Ferry (1832-1833); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1840); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1842 term; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Monongahela (1845-1848); died, May 27, 1848 in St Louis, Missouri; interred, Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
