ORR, James Breckenridge, a Representative from Franklin County; born, August 1, 1805 in Franklin County, Pa.; colonel, 50th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1835); farmer; proprietor, tannery; engaged, woolen textile production; proprietor, tavern; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Orrstown (1836-1849); elected, justice of the peace (1851); treasurer, Orrstown Savings Fund Society; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1855 and 1856 terms; delegate, Democratic County Convention (1860); trustee, Marshall College (now Franklin & Marshall College); died, September 9, 1887 in Junction City, Geary County, Kansas; interred, Highland Cemetery, Junction City, Geary County, Kansas.
