EVANS, William, a Representative from Indiana County; born, February 27, 1808 in Indiana County, Pa.; farmer; elected, sheriff, Indiana County (1839-1842); land surveyor; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1849, 1850 and 1851 terms; elected, surveyor, Indiana County (1863-1866); clerk, land office, Indiana County (1867-1875); died, June 24, 1875 in Cherryhill Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Harmony Cemetery, Penn Run, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
