HILLS, Humphrey Amasa, Sr., a Representative from Erie County; born, August 10, 1811 in Vernon, Oneida County, NY; merchant; elected, commissioner, Erie County (1847-1850); enumerator, United States Census, Erie County (1850); appointed, commissioner, Committee to Fix the Boundary Line Between Erie and Crawford (1850); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1853 and 1854 terms; died, March 13, 1887 in East Springfield, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
