DUNLAP, James Darwin, a Representative from Erie County; born, January 15, 1809 in Kaskaskia, Territory of Indiana; lawyer (1837-1856); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1841 and 1842 terms; reelected to the House for the 1844 and 1845 terms; elected, delegate, Whig National Convention (1845); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1845-1846); elected, president, common council, Erie (1851); elected, select council, Erie (1855-1858); died, March 28, 1858 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Erie Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
