HUTCHINS, Samuel, a Representative from Erie County; born, 1787 in Putney, Windham County, Vt.; private, Vermont Militia (War of 1812); merchant; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Waterford (1819-1829); elected, overseer of the poor, Waterford (1834); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1838-1839 and 1840 terms; elected, associate judge, Erie County (1856-1861); died, February 8, 1868 in Waterford, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Waterford Cemetery, Waterford, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
