JOHNSTON, William, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, December 25, 1800 in Fredericksburg, Va.; tinner and coppersmith; justice of the peace; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1840, 1841, and 1842 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1843 term; farmer; died, April 17, 1873 in Pleasant Unity, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pleasant Unity Methodist Cemetery, Pleasant Unity, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
