BYERLY, Benjamin, a Representative from Fayette and Westmoreland Counties; born, May 15, 1791 in Pennsylvania; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1828-1829 and 1829-1830 terms; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1841); reelected to the House for the 1854 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1830-1831 and 1855 terms; died, January 3, 1864 in North Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Long Run Presbyterian Cemetery, North Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
