HILL, Alexander McClelland, a Representative from Fayette and Westmoreland Counties; born, 1802 in Fayette County, Pa.; tanner; farmer; engaged, coke manufacturing and shipping; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1846 term; director, Pittsburgh and Connellsville Railroad Company (1847); manager, Connellsville and West Newton Navigation Company (1849-1850); reelected to the House for the 1852 and 1853 terms; engaged, coal business; died, March 17, 1863 in Dunbar, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, East Liberty Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Vanderbilt, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
