BOUGHNER, Dr. James Vance, a Representative from Greene County; born, April 9, 1812 in Clarksburg, Harrison County, Va. (now WV); A.B., Cincinnati College, 1837; M.D., Philadelphia College of Medicine, 1847; paymaster, United States Army (1864-1865, Civil War); clerk, mercantile; physician; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Mount Morris, Pa. (1845-1846); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1846 and 1847 terms; elected, delegate and organizer, North Western Virginia Convention (1861); collector of internal revenue, second district, West Virginia; elected, member, West Virginia House of Delegates representing Monongahela County (1848); died, February 8, 1882 in Morgantown, Monongahela County, West Virginia; interred, Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, Monongahela County, West Virginia.
