LARKIN, John, Jr., a Representative of Delaware County; born, October 3, 1804 in Concord Township, Delaware County, Pa.; merchant; owner, trading vessel (1832-1839, 1848-1852); elected, sheriff, Delaware County (1840-1843); elected, delegate, National Anti-Masonic Convention (1840); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1845 term; reelected to the House for the 1846 term; engaged, real estate; elected, chief burgess, Chester (1857-1860); president, Chester Gas Company; elected, council president, Chester (1860-1866); elected, mayor, Chester (1866-1872); president, Chester Mutual Insurance Company; president, First National Bank of Chester; died, July 20, 1896 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
