VAN HOFF (VANHOFF), Dr. Augustus H., a Representative from Cumberland County; born, March 15, 1813; M.D., bronchitis, Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1836; physician; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1845; appointed, commissioner, York and Cumberland Railroad (1846); died, April 4, 1849 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
