KNOX, George, a Representative from Tioga County; born, 1805 in Pennsylvania; farmer; elected, commissioner, Tioga County (1835-1838); elected, register and recorder, Tioga County (1839-1842); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1844 and 1845 terms; elected, auditor, Tioga County (1846-1847); elected, treasurer, Tioga County (1852-1853); justice of the peace; died, November 10, 1867 in Minnesota; interred, Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Fillmore County, Minnesota.
