ROSS, Amasa Bartlett, a Representative from Crawford County; born, November 26, 1810 in Peru, Berkshire County, Ma.; merchant (1838-1870); elected, school director, Cambridge Township (16 years); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Rockdale, Crawford County (1843-1848, 1849-1853); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1853); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1855 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1856 term; farmer; elected, burgess, Cambridge Springs (1866); died, November 2, 1885 in Cambridge Springs, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cambridge Springs Cemetery, Cambridge Springs, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
