KERR, James Kingsley, a Representative from Crawford County; born, May 5, 1825 in Titusville, Crawford County, Pa.; colonel, 64th Regiment, 4th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1863, Civil War); school director, Titusville (1847); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1847 and 1848 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1849 term; attorney (1849); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1854, 1860); director, First National Bank of Franklin, Venango County (1864); died, February 25, 1876 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
