DUNN, William, III, a Representative from Clinton, Lycoming and Potter Counties; born, December 1, 1811 on Great Island near Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pa.; lawyer; delegate, State Democratic Convention (1840, 1842); elected, auditor, Clinton County (1841, 1855); secretary, Clinton County Democratic Committee (1842); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1850 and 1851 terms; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1862); elected, associate judge, Clinton County Court of Common Pleas (1871-1876); farmer; died, September 7, 1877 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Dunnstown Cemetery, Dunnstown, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
