JAMES, Jesse Evans, a Representative from Chester County; born, December 5, 1794 in West Nantmeal Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; justice of the peace, West Nantmeal Township (1821); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830 term; reelected to the House as a Whig for the 1852 and 1853 terms; died, July 17, 1875 in West Nantmeal Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Glenmoore, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
