ACKER, John, a Representative from Chester County; born, November 29, 1814 in Uwchlan Township, Chester County, Pa; farmer (1832-1856); elected, justice of the peace (1840-1850); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1849 and 1851; engaged in grain, coal, and lumber business (1856-1876); fruit farmer, Ky. (1876-1896); died, January 17, 1904 in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Great Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery; Malvern, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
