DORLAN, James M., a Representative from Chester County; born, March 19, 1807 in West Marlborough Township, Chester County, Pa.; proprietor, paper mill (1832-1881); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1849 and 1850; United States Patent holder, improvements in “Sizing Paper, etc.” (1872); died, August 29, 1881 in East Brandywine Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
