STEELE, John Dutton, a Representative from Chester County; born, December 25, 1773 in England; sheep farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1840; manager, The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Chester County (1840); elected, delegate, Whig National Convention (1848); died, September 16, 1866 in Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Doe Run Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, East Fallowfield Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
