HARTSHORNE, Joshua, a Representative from Chester County; born, June 17, 1804 in Maryland; merchant; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1840 term; elected, Canal Commissioner (1844-1847); engaged, iron business, Baltimore, Md.; died, August 9, 1884 in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oaklands Cemetery, West Goshorn Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
