SHINDEL, Solomon, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, October 7, 1808 in Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pa.; clerk; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Gratz (1834-1840); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1839); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1843; died, September 15, 1863 in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Trevorton, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
