SAMUELS, Jesse, a Representative from Carbon and Lehigh Counties; born, November 2, 1797; surveyor; appointed, prothonotary, Lehigh County (1839-1842); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1845 and 1846 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1847 term; civil engineer; died, January 17, 1868 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union-West End Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
