STROUSS, Reuben, a Representative from Carbon and Lehigh Counties; born, September 14, 1811 in Pennsylvania; laborer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1844 and 1846 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1845 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1847 term; elected, delegate, Whig State Convention (1847); blacksmith; appointed, sealer of weights and measures, Crawford County (1861-1862); died, August 18, 1862 in Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Venango Cemetery, Venango, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
