FOGEL, Benjamin, a Representative from Lehigh County; born, November 8, 1790 in Fogelsville, Northampton County (now Lehigh County), Pa.; brigadier general, Pennsylvania Militia; farmer; elected, coroner, Lehigh County (1824-1828); elected, auditor, Lehigh County (1829-1833); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1840 term; reelected to the House for the 1841 and 1842 terms; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Fogelsville (1841-1852); died, March 8, 1869 in Fogelsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Fogelsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
