McCULLOCH, George, a Representative from Centre County; born, February 22, 1792 in Maysville, Mason County, Ky.; ironmaster; proprietor, Hannah Furnace (1836-1850); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1835-1836); elected, United States Congress (1839-1841); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1843 term; appointed, Speaker pro tempore (1843); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1844 term; died, April 6, 1861 in Port Royal, Juniata County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
